Security Flower auction optimized

Flower auction Flora Holland realized a new central post. On this post 1 or 2 persons are working who are responsible for monitoring the auction buildings security, including monitoring the building related systems (climate, lighting, etc.)

vhp ergonomics assisted by developing the new design of the post and the software ergonomics. The integrated approach in which all elements of the design and the software are examined makes it possible to strongly optimize the task performance. This is of great important since the workload of the employees recently has increased due to a large amount of reports and questions. The goal of the project was to optimize the design and the software so the monitoring and operation would strongly be simplified. This has been realized by centralization of the operations that have to be carried out. In the old situation the operation was spread over several computers and mosaic panels. In the new situation a covering Praxis system is implemented. This system makes it possible to monitor and operate all installations with only a few monitors. As starting point for the software pictures has been chosen for maps of the auction on which the different installations are shown by new developed icons. By clicking on an installation it is possible to ask for data or to carry out an operation. The recommendations for the design of the post were tested in a mock-up. For the software a prototype has been built in which a part of the installations could be operated. The results of the tests have been used to further optimize the design. The post is in use since the completion to full satisfaction of the users and the auction.
