Software traffic control

Graphic Information Systems (GIS) are more and more used in incident and control rooms. A traffic department takes into consideration to buy such a system, and to use this system besides the incident room information system. vhp ergonomics made a study about this way of working with two different systems. The conclusion is that it is possible to gain a lot by integrating both systems. In this way the graphic system will not only be used to obtain a overview but also as input (navigation tool) for the information system. By clicking on elements of the map, the corresponding data in the information system will be displayed. The other way around an element that is manipulated in the information system, is also directly displayed in the graphic system. vhp ergonomics finalized the project with a functional set of requirements for purchase of the GIS.
