Description:

In a municipality regularly problems arise with clients when taken apart in a consultation room. To improve this situation vhp ergonomics has made several recommendations. The most important are:

  • Changing of the procedure of collecting the client: work by appointment. the employee collects the client by name (registered)
  • The clients get a screen on which they can read only relevant information.
  • The turning direction of the door is turned around. an aggressive client experiences embarrassment or some resistance leaving the room. On the corridor plants can be placed directly behind/ next to the door which keeps the space always free.
  • The table is enlarged to create more distance between the client and the employee. If necessary the employee can choose to put up a barrier
  • By putting windows on several sides the employees can keep an eye on each other. where as the clients can not see each other.
  • Above the table hangs a very well anchored lamp to discourage the client to throw a chair or to lean over the table.
